Haha! Fuckn-A. We forgot to charge him! Great weekend dudes! Thanks for being awesome teammates 5th of 48... Not to shabby. Congrats Lee! Fighting back from the lesser winning bracket all the way to 3rd with the MVP Charlie and Tim D. Booty clappin indeed!
Looks like rain all week. Let's get some games in eh?
hey i dont know if any st. louis teams are going to lawrence for the tournament this weekend, but if anyone wants to come i was gonna try to go and i dont have any team members. if not i can probably find people to play with at the tournament no biggie.
it seems apparent that the refreee saw two skilled players and decided to "gasp" let them play. someone had to win that battle and i think its pretty clear who did. remind me again why i look at that crappy cry-baby website?
Anchovy: I've still got your mallet -- want me to hold onto it or leave it at HandleBar? I might have to go back to New York in the coming weeks on short notice -- don't want you to be without it.
Everyone: great job at midwests, I'll see you all tomorrow. Let's bend some mallets
I think the World's Fair Pavilion would be a sick rain location. I was there this evening, and I think it'd work well. Plus, it's an awesome looking shred spot.
We play *here* when it rains (insert fantastic photo of the World's Fair Pavilion).
I'd love to play at the pavilion tonight. Is the covered area lit / did you notice any plugs? There's also that pavilion in tower grove park by the pool but it might be small
"...that being said STL your entire team mentality and control of your bikes should be worked on. you have gotten much better the past 2-3 years you should not have to resort this this uncotriolled squeacky brake wild swingin game style to do well."
I think all STL Bikes should squeak and rattle and creak. It clearly bothers people.
It seems like we are miles ahead in the mental game of polo. Everyone else must wake up at night with cold sweats and squeaky brakes ringing in their heads.

Rule 15.1.2.3.12. Article R Paragraph MMM Sub part Q Item 6 in the NAH Hardcourt Bike Polo Rule Book
"All bike polo must be played in a state of silence. No squeaks, creaks, mumbles, voices, sounds or noises of any kind should be heard during the game. The presence of any such noise shall be grounds for dismissal from game. Bike polo is best played in a silent state."
Yeah, what the fuck is MKE Jake talking about on LoBP? My understanding of what he said is, "If it gives you an edge, stop doing it." He's jealous.
You guys move fast and hard and intimidate. If I've learned anything in my first two months playing polo, it's that there's no "right way" to play bike polo.
You guys fucking slayed last weekend and were a thrill to watch. I guess MKE Jake didn't talk to Kremin, who said Jake W.'s screams and the metal were super intimidating.
Congrats, fellas. Fuck the naysayers. Play your way.
I think we should host a little CoMo/STL friendlies in celebration of Missouri making waves in Bloomington.
What does everyone think about the first weekend of June? That weekend is also Nick's birthday weekend. We should polo and party with our friends from the west and celebrate the fact that Missouri polo kicks ass!
ps. Adding to the ~partytime extravaganza~ Francis' birthday is the day after Nick's. That makes two birthdays, one graduation, three victories...let's pile on the milestones!
I was there alone last night for about an hour and a half hitting a ball around -- a park ranger drove by once during that time to see what I was doing but once he saw I was playing some sort of game he didn't stop to say anything. He seemed much more concerned with making sure nobody was up to no good in the bathrooms -- so maybe the city & park will go for something that adds an extra presence to the area, especially on rainy days when nobody's around.
To officially rent the pavilion for wedding receptions and the works is $800 on weekdays, $1000 on Friday & Sunday. Saturday only weddings are allowed to reserve.
PROS - (1) there are more than enough outlets for lights (2) there's a big paved parking lot right next to it that's blocked off for special events only so if we hosted an event 2 games could be going at once (3) there's nearby public parking for 25+ cars (4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, & 10) it's the fucking world's fair pavilion.
CONS - (1) stray balls would be a problem - do we still have Lucky's boards? (2) the ground has cracks and messes with ball play a little, and the park probably won't want skid marks all over - again, Lucky's boards could fix this, but do we want to be hauling them around?. (3) sound is amplified, so it could easily violate Rule 15.1.2.3.12. Article R Paragraph MMM Sub part Q Item 6 in the NAH Hardcourt Bike Polo Rule Book, and be a cause of concern for the park rangers (4) park curfew is 10pm.
dear anonymous, im pretty sure you are contacting us from beyond the grave. perhaps it has not been made apparent, (even though we feel it has) that STL bike polo has killed everyone. henceforth, you may not kill us. we most likely have already killed you.

We didn't charge that guy because we made an agreement that he'd be our model in exchange for the $$.
I'm really tired and sore. Missouri must have been playing awesome polo all weekend.
Partying on a Monday is the best way to say "UP YOURS!" to the idea that partying is only for the weekend.

World's Fair Pavilion would be amazing! Would we set up boards?
Maybe we should try that tonight?

The World's Fair Pavilion was lit. Not extremely bright, but totally playable, I think.
Something to keep in mind for future rain polo sessions.

Polo is the new golf. Slacks, collared shirts, and SILENCE!
All of the whining makes me think of this:

worlds fair pavillion would be soooper rad. thats my two cents.
You'll be kicked out of the WF Pavilion before the first squeaky brake squeaks.
the park rangers will love us. besides, aren't we a 501c3 non-profit or something?

back to you Ben.
I just thought it would be a cool place to play if it's raining...Better than the garage.
Yes, there are places where the ball would roll out, but it could still work if people really wanted to polo on a rainy day.
For the record: I don't want to host a tournament there or anywhere...Ever.
tournaments are never a good idea. i back you on that one ben. but a weekend of drunken friendlies ...
can we get a friday night polo post please?
