State vs. State was a lot of fun, but City based teams is where new format is headed. The Midwest differs from some of the other regions in that there are lots of cities with smaller polo scenes. That is why we are going with "club based" teams. Ideally, if a city can field a full roster, they should. If they can't, it's OK to combine cities into one club. The catch is that once a player plays for a club, they can only play for that club for the rest of the season (season starts post-worlds). Also, the general consensus has been that 9 is too many players per team. For this tournament, we are going with 7 active players and up to 2 alternates on the bench.
MIDWEST CLUB REPS: EMAIL THE ADDRESS ABOVE BY AUGUST 31 IF YOUR CITY IS INTERESTED!!
Details on format will be posted after the registration deadline.
SUMMARY: Bench style tournament. Club based teams. Teams of 7 + 2 alternates. Midwest. Lexington. Halloween. Awesome.
Halloween (a shortening of All Hallows’ Evening), also known as Hallowe'en or All Hallows' Eve, is a yearly holiday observed around the world on 31 October, the night before All Saints' Day. Unlike Day of the Dead celebrations, the Christian feast of All Hallows' Eve, according to some scholars, incorporates traditions from pagan harvest festivals and festivals honouring the dead, particularly the Celtic Samhain; other scholars maintain that the feast originated entirely independently of Samhain. Typical festive Halloween activities include trick-or-treating (also known as "guising"), attending costume parties, carving jack-o'-lanterns, lighting bonfires, apple bobbing, visiting haunted attractions, playing pranks, telling scary stories, and watching horror films, as well as the religious observances of praying, fasting and attending vigils or church services.
