Bike building day

I know what you're all thinking as I pedal my Murry around the rink: "man, I wish my bike had hideous colors and cost less than my cable housings!" Well here's your opportunity. I'm opening up my shop this Saturday from 1pm until we feel like being done. Come on in and build yourself a polo specific bike. I'll have my sawsall for making short handlebars and any other crazy modifications you want. Or just bring your bike and work on it there as we hang out. Or just hang out. You can get a whole bike here for a $30-$40 donation (depending on the bike) and parts are priced proportionally. We can get a game going in the parking lot if we have enough people, and we can always recruit a few from the neighborhood to play.

For those who don't know, we're a non-profit and any donation of bike parts or money would be gladly accepted. Also I can take stuff on trade, in lieu of donation.

We're located in a church, so no alcohol on the property please. I honestly don't know the street address. (the post office hasn't decided it yet) You can mapquest the 400o block of Cottage ave, and we're on the northwest corner of cottage and Bishop PL Scott.

I think that covers it all. Please RSVP if you're going to be there.

I am going to my sister-in-law's wedding that day, so I'm probably out. The REI wheel building class is coming up soon, though, so I should at least have a functional bike on my own soon.

I drew a big skull and crossed mallets on my wheel disc for Trent's back wheel that got trashed.

Tony, I thought it was hilarious that your sister-in-law's wedding only means you "probably" can't make it. I'm glad you have your priorities right.

I can't be there. Perhaps we could do another build day sometime.

Absolutely - I just bought a bunch of stuff for my (soon to be) commuter bike, and I still have to attach my brake to my fixed-gear bike. Saturday would be a great day to do all of this, but alas, I'm stuck.

Do you think they'd notice if I slipped out the back during the whole "I do" part? :-)
