Instead of going to Tilles, we should just dork around in the Maplewood parking lot. Then we don't have to waste time driving to different polo places, and we can quickly pounce on the rink if the hockey dudes leave early.

Is anyone planning on going to Little Rock? I know there won't be an overwhelming theme of rape, pillage, and destroy due to it just being friendlies, but that's why I want to go. Anyone interested?

I really want to go to Little Rock. I was going to try to get Friday off, so I could take the back roads down through that beautiful country, but now I don't think I can get out of work.
Who else is in to leave Friday night and come back Sunday night? It's about a 7 hour drive.
It's so close to Lexington's tournament. Too close. Those Florida kids should've pressured Little Rock into hosting a tournament on a different weekend.

That early xmas polo bike wasnt bad for sure. Nice change of pace from the the usual not very good idea bikes that get linked here. In the spirit of selling stuff, i realized i have a metric shit tonne of mtn (and a few 700c)bike tires if anybody needs any. $5 a tire. I have a nice Kenda Krad. THose are good and grippy, good for fronts. Uh, lots of others if anybody needs to secure a good tire for the upcoming weekend. also have some wheels if needed (all kinds). Click my name for pics

We would have to build boards to play under kingshighway, and I think that the rink would end up being smaller than maplewood.
However, I was just inside one of the warehouse buildings right there, and there's plenty of room for full-sized courts. We'd still have to build boards though.

Is there a way to move and transport Jersey Barriers without the use of a crane? There's a construction company near my house that has a huge supply of cement Jersey Barriers that haven't moved in over a decade.
I'd be willing to contact them about donating enough barriers for a rink if we could figure out a way to move them on our own.
We should see if there's room in the Lemp Brewery where we could build a rink.
Haunted polo.
I think it's the Lemp Mansion that's haunted, not the brewery. Also, buildings as old as the brewery usually have columns too close together for decent polo courts.
But this place by the skate park was nice. If someone were so inclined, they could call the property owner ("for lease" sign on the front of the building) and propose that, in exchange for a key and permission to turn the lights on, we do a security sweep of the building twice a week when we play. Ask bums to leave, change the rat traps, make note of any new broken windows and graffiti. That sort of arrangement.
We get a covered, lit, soccer and hockey player free venue. They get consistent building monitoring. If the relationship is really good, we get the biggest, best 24 hour tournament venue in the country.

Rigid fork, aheadset style stem (much better then quill for polo). Needs a headset and i think you are good. $40 if anybody wants it.

Alright. If you want to be on tv, forget about going to Little Rock. Peggy wants to interview one of us early on Saturday April the 10th and then have us play a game with one of the hosts in the back lot of the news station.
It sounds like a fun, easy way to get some good exposure.
What we'll need is an interesting, articulate person for the inteview and enough people for a short game with the host.
Also, if we shoot any video or great photos in Lexington, we can submit those for teasers/lead ins.

It's not like we're going to be playing pick up there for hours.

And I 4ththe opinion that Fox has to come to us, and that I don't really care if we're on tv or not. Tehcnically, the roller hockey courts in the city parks are for roller hockey only. The attention could actually backfire on us if an uppity park district official were watching.
I shared everyone's concerns with Fox. I'll see what they say.
