Rose said...

Tonight was great! everyone played great! What a fun time.

Eva, I will put your mallet in my car and you can get it whenever I see you next.

Is anybody serious about playing on Saturday this weekend as well as next week when como's here? I would likely play.

20% chance of rain on Wednesday.
0% chance of Thursday.
POLO!!!!!!.

Anonymous said...

Multiple days of rain result in a large, deep puddle at the north end of the rink. The rink being dry by Thursday is wishful thinking.

Anonymous said...

Lets fix the drainage problem.

Anonymous said...

Thursday is also the full moon fiasco.

Ben sucks. He should've made half an effort to save the first goal in the video.

Phil said...

Going to see if I can fix the drainage problem so we can play tomorrow.

We could do some sort of tall bike/ chopper bike games for the shits and giggles if your into shits and giggles. I probably got a few I could bring.

Rose said...

Hey pals!

Email merit badge ideas to me: rosemarylouise at sbcglobal dot net.

To reiterate from last time: these are NOT prizes/superlatives. No "best goal" or "ugliest bike" or things like that. (basically, if it contains most/least/an adjective ending in "-est" it probably doesn't count as a merit badge)

Think scouts-style. Examples from last year: Snappy Dresser, Wheelie Goal, Make-Out, Fell Asleep, Threw Up..

You can email me as much as you want. And any non-STL people reading can send ' em in too!

(typing from my phone sorry if anything autocorrected nonsensically)

Ben said...

Off the top of my head:

Beverage Chug.
Score all five goals.
Turn right on the joust.
Broken bike.
Broken mallet.
Broken bone.
Nap in the rape room.
Vegetarian eating meat.
Shoot through wheel cover.
Stay the ENTIRE time (aka Last non-STL player((s))).
Spirit of The Girl.

King said...

So it's looking pretty dry out now. Just a bit cold! Who's in? Polo 2p mtP!

Ben said...

Out. Early Thanksgiving lunch/dinner with extended family.

Phil said...

More rain? Boo that!

crl said...

I'm in town for Thanksgiving this week.

Can STL get numbers to play Wednesday, Nov. 23 at Maplewood?

If not, I'd be down to party with you instead of family. Maybe.

Rose said...

I want to play and the weather looks cooperative for once!

PARTY TIP: Miracles happen to people who believe in them.

Jon Rinehart said...

I will play tommorow. gonna squeege the cuort,

Anonymous said...

LET'S PLAY!

crl said...

Hell yes.

Phil said...

Let's play some POLO!!! Anyone checked the court today?

Rose said...

I can try to check it on my way home, but if someone else gets there first that's probably good.

I am 79624599325806% in tonight.

Rose said...

Seriousy though, everyone I work with left early and didn't tell me and now I sm am even more interested in the prospect of smacking a ball around with you fine gentlemen (and occasional ladies) this evening.

Anonymous said...

Whats polo?

Anonymous said...

Who has a cold weather ball? We're going to need a few.

Rose said...

I've got one! COME ON GUYS we have at least five people LET'S GO

Anonymous said...

Anonymous said...

We're going to use Skype so The Girl can be at the Lock-In.

But that means she's required to sit in front of her computer for 24 hours.

crl said...

Would Skatium approve of water balloon use on the court? If so, that gives us a lot of options.

Also toilet paper rolls. Something like those getting thrown from the crowd.

Capture the flag, but on bikes.

Anonymous said...

The Skatium rink is warped in spots since it's both old and wood. Water balloons would likely end up giving us slick spots and puddles. Also, it's not the warmest inside the Skatium in January.

Just prepare yourself to party and the rest will follow.

Nevertheless, the sagas inspired documentary filmmaker Steve Elkins to mount Phillies 6 Ryan Howard Road Cool Base Grey 2010 All Star Jerseys yet another search, this time using an aerial mapping Twins 5 Cuddyer Red 2011 All Star Jerseys technology known as light detection and ranging, or lidar.
How lidar worksAn airplane equipped with the lidar mapping apparatus can bounce laser light off the terrain below, and then gather millions of the reflected readings. Those readings can be interpreted by high-powered software that can produce 3-D maps with an elevation resolution of less than 4 inches (10 centimeters). Such maps can even be "filtered" to peel back the dense vegetation and see the contours of the land below. Using lidar, archaeologists can conduct land surveys that might have required months or years to do on the ground.
"We use lidar to pinpoint where human structures are by looking for linear shapes and rectangles. Nature doesn't work in straight lines," Colorado State University's Stephen Leisz, a member of archaeological team, said in a .

This lidar focuses on a formation in Honduras' Mosquitia rain forest known as "Structure B."
Archaeologists once thought the rain forests of Central and South America were too rugged to allow for large, highly organized communities like the one described by Cortez. But over the past decade or so, researchers have found evidence to argue that the forests were once much more highly managed by native populations. The idea that the ancient peoples of the Americas no longer seems as radical as it once did. That's what inspired Elkins and his colleagues to go ahead with their search.
An 'easy' discoveryA year ago, the team mapped about 60 square miles (160 square kilometers) of Honduras' Mosquitia rain forest, and sent the data back to University 2009 All Star Philadelphia Phillies 6 Howard Red Jerseys of Houston engineer Bill Carter. Carter, who works with the National Science Foundation's National Center for Airborne Laser Mapping, identified the regular Mariners 51 Ichiro red 2010 All Star Jerseys outlines of artificial structures after just a few minutes of analysis.
"It was kind of surprising how easy it was Tigers 24 Miguel Cabrera Home Cool Base White 2010 All Star Jerseys to find them," .
It took months more to map hundreds of ruins at several sites in the target area. On Wednesday, Elkins and his team shared some their images to fellow researchers during a session at a . The laser images unveiled this week illustrate how structures could be identified beneath the vegetation, but do not show the settlements in a wider context.
"We can't show the overall place because we'd like to protect the site" from treasure hunters and looters, Elkins explained in the AGU's news release.
He said that the UTL Scientific teamplans to explore the structures on the ground later this year. (UTL stands for "Under the Lidar".) Eventually, Elkins and fellow filmmaker Bill Benenson, who is underwriting the expedition, .
