What do you mean, "Who needs a sword"? I've been attempting to mount a mallet head to the end of a sword.

You take the ball...I take your hand.

If needed I can probably get a vector file of this. If I learned anything over the weekend though it's that swords are bad ass.

Do you guys have a sporting goods shop in town that carries the Franklin "super high density aka reds"? I tried ording some for Midwests last week, just not sure if they'll be in on time. I'm looking for 4-6. Great playing with some of you yesterday.

Lucky just ordered some balls, but i dont know what kind or how many. I think he got them already. He is out of town until ? (today? i dont know when he is back).

I'm back now. Although i still have to get a hold of Robert at the Skatium for you.

Yeah, CoMO kids, I've got balls-a-plenty. I'll bring 6 brand-new-never-used super high density reds with me to the tournament. Thanks for finally getting my logo on the flyer, slow-bees.

A.) There were rumblings about playing tonight (Tuesday). For thr record: I'd be down. But not before 7 or so because I'm getting my bike tuned for this weekend (New brake pads so I can stop on a dime).

B.) Lee talked about a STL clothing theme for the tourney. Any ideas?

C.) Julia, does Jared know he's playing with us? I mean, I registered him on a team with Alex and myself...I hope Jared's ready to cuddle.

Poll:

What bike should Nick play on at midwests?

1) 24" Specialized MTB with repaired brakes.
2) Dyno BMX bike
3) Topher's Fixed gear

Lets play some polo tonight, I need to make a decision on my bicycle.

Lucky said...

I'll play tonight, if I can get enough mallet work done before hand. After 7 sounds fine.

Jared from FtL isn't coming any longer. He got in an internet fight and decided to boycott our tournament on principle. Also, he is poor.

There are still lots of singles and doubles coming from all over to put a team together.

We have housing for all st. louis players in one location. Bring sleeping bag/blankets/pillows and a towel or swim shorts if you want to sit in the sauna.

I am going to caravan up Friday evening if anyone wants to tag along.

Anonymous said...

Ben, I am sorry Jared backed out! I hear Internet fights can be very realistic.

Nick, Yes! I will join you for the ride up on Friday.

Everyone else, I recommend bringing your towel to enjoy the steam room-sauna-hot tub-whirlpool-lazy river-indoor swimming pool utopia. Is very nice. But much like rehab, you need a sponsor to enjoy the amenities for free. Otherwise, I believe you are subject to entry fees.

It looks like a couple of cars from Madison/Milwaukee are going to take us up on our offer of overnight housing Friday and caravanning out with us Saturday morning.

I can house 1-2 cars full. I don't know yet for sure who's coming. Anyone else in the area able?

Anonymous said...

i cant house people. I got an art show on Friday and im busy with that. Im going up Sat morn if anybody wants to ride with me or have me take bikes.

Lucky, no need for you to bring any of your Franklin balls. I finally received the reds I ordered this afternoon. Nothing like last minute. Thanks for offering to bring some up for the tourney. See you guys soon.

Trent can get red cloroplast for wheel covers. Or, if you have free time during the day, you can go pick it up yourself at neon and flourescent supply, 4145 Papin St, St Louis, MO‎.

As for cuddlers uniforms - I got blue dickies and grey dickies, shoes with rainbow laces and white socks. T-shirts is most colors.

Ben - sorry about riding you so hard Tuesday night. I'm dissapointed that you aren't coming. but I'll respect your health. Where/when can we exchange lock-in flyers?

Ben said...

No need to apologize, Lucky.

Part of me wants to go play polo, but a bigger part is overwhelmed by the amount of teams showing up to Midwests (including teams that don't reside in the Midwest). Thinking about that has led me to put too much pressure on myself and take the game too seriously, and as a result, I've burned myself out on polo the past few weeks.

I've also been dealing with a nagging shoulder injury that happened the night those hockey guys kicked us off of the Maplewood rink. Every time we've played polo since that night, I've managed to reaggravate my shoulder. It's never going to heal if I keep abusing it. So I think taking the weekend off will be good for my shoulder and my mind.

I have about 100 Lock-In flyers for you, and I'm going to try to print a few more tomorrow. They'll be in your hands (or your mail slot) tomorrow night, guaranteed.

LUCKY- i got yellow coroplast for my front. You with red, me with yellow and nick with his Dyno (please god, please let Nick ride his Dyno) should be good and easy to identify on the court.

Lucky said...

Anchovy - awesome. If we can get nick to paint his mags bright blue we can be team primary colors.

Ben - yeah, swing on by tonight. I will be home all evening getting mallet heads ready to sell on Saturday.

Everyone else - you should come to Columbia! We've got cars leaving Friday evening and Saturday morning. The tournament is going to be wicked-crazy! There will be stragglers from all over and at all experience levels looking to fill up teams. Plus booze!

nick said...

I will pick up some blue paint tonight.

I will ride my dyno... just for you anchovy.

STL BIKE POLO said...

I have two pieces of red coro at home for wheels covers. If anyone wants it you can pick it up at my place. I don't have any at work.

Who's leaving in the morn? I want a convoy going up. Anybody know what time we need to be there by?

ps-yay Nick! You don't need to be blue. You will stick out enough on that bike. I'm stoked.

Ben,
Nice work on Louis' mallet! Now get your ass to Columbia!

Are we playing Monday night with the Texas people?

As for the crew in COMO:

Keep giving them hell, STL!!

Lucky said...

The ATX kids stayed in CoMO last night. Their plan right now is to drive to St Louis early in the morning, go to the city museum, then drive out to Lexington for the first night of their polo road trip. They're gonna call me if they want to stay later and do polo this evening here instead of driving to KY. You will all get a txt from 'chovy if that is the case.

As for the Cuddlers and King Shin Way (and Evan): Granpa is so very proud of all of you.

a friend just told me about Cranksgiving, on sunday at noon, is anyone going to this?

according to the forecast its likely to rain this sat and sunday anyway. Would it be heresy to suggest polo on Friday evening? Or Saturday afternoon if the weather is cooperative?

i guess the tournament weather was perfect, i'm experiencing much polo withdrawal

-Patrick

Lucky said...

The City Museum is closed on Mondays (and Tuesdays), so the Austin kids drove straight through to Lexington. No polo tonight. They promis to see us at the Lock-in, though.

Anonymous said...

Is there polo tonight?
-anchovy

Ben said...

Is that a serious question?

I will be playing polo tonight. By myself, if necessary.

Anonymous said...

I was just askin. I didn't know if you needed more shoulder rest. I assume Maplewood?

After watching Midwests Twitter updates all weekend, I'm excited to play again. I'll play at Lindenwood or Maplewood...depending on availability.

There were rumblings of MO/KS friendlies this weekend in STL (on .ca). It's supposed to rain on Sunday. But I'd be down for a Saturday event. Though, I don't know if out-of-towners wanna be traveling two weekends in a row.

...just throwing that out there.

Ben said...

Jake and I are going to be at Lindenwood or Maplewood (depending on availability) around 5. Everyone else is free to join us whenever.

can someone bring me a zip tie or two tonight? please and thank you!
