We have taken in 1660 and are promised another 200 from registration fees. Total=1860

We have paid the skatium 800 for rent, and owe them another 250 to open the bar. Total left=810.

Some beer and some groceries bought Tuesday, 375. Total left=435.

Pinata prizes, 92.71 Total left=342.29

100 set aside for refunds. Total left=242.29

So we have 42.29 left in cash, plus the promise of another 200 at the door. We still have to buy veggie dogs, napkins, spoons and plates, granola, yogurt, and coffee for breakfast (prolly about 150-175 with the coffee urn rental). So it looks like we'll have less than a hundred plus Julia(Queen of the lock-in!)'s t-shirt money to make a second beer run Saturday evening.

Please let me know if there are any printing, purchasing, planning, pinata-ing, etc. expenses that I've forgotten or you want compensation for. Right now, it looks like we're gonna be OK.

I got a handful of "Big Tides" hats to sell too. We may have an extra $50-$70 after selling them.

I say we give no refunds, or at the most half refunds.

Lucky said...

Full refunds were promised a month ago. Jenny is at the Shop n Save this morning buying the remaining grocery items. I'll update the totals tonight.

I think your going overboard with the food. Way overboard. Were alredy giving a lot more than anyone would expect. It's a lock in. People should be prepared to spend 23 hours here. Don't buy snacks. Were not an airline and you can't cater to everyone. Think of how messy big ass bags of hippie granola are going to be at the skatium. Lucky, relax. You planned a hell of an event. with plenty of food alredy. Save the cash for the one thing we all NEED... BEER!

In other news: Its my birthday! Ice skating Party at Steinberg 7-9pm. Followed by???

I'll stop by Mount Pleasant on friday and make it ready, i have snow shovels and a giant squeegee thing from my work. As much as i'd like to, i can't stay for the whole Lock-in because I have family stuff i haven't been able to get out of.

will there be any friendly games on Friday if the court is cleared?

anchovy i can help you clear the court on friday, i get off work at four. i cant go to the lock in, so i would love to play some polo on friday.

What's the plan for friday night. I heard talks of jakes or manga? If that's the case any idea what time?

My show starts at 7 and I'm prob playing at 8:30 or 9. At the moment I think my out-of-towners are going to the show with me and then well just meet up with everyone afterward. Everyone is welcome to come. Its a pretty small place so it should be a really fun show. Like every Hood Kicks show.

Not partying at my house. It's too clean at the moment. Who's posting anonymous and not putting their name below? Why can't you go? it's 23hours long.
What do you guys think about maplewood for polo Friday. It's clean and we can plug in lights...
-Jake-

Ben said...

That'd be fun. I'd like to see people's reaction to the tiny, slick rink.

Maplewood then Mangia (sp?).

Willmore is super wet and full of puddles . No dry spots at all. Small slush piles that will most likely be melted by the end of today. I imagine mt.pleasant is in the same shape. It will take a crew with a couple squeegees, pushbrooms and power blowers to get either court rideable.

Jake, have you checked out Maplewood court?

Ben said...

Priority should be getting Mt. Pleasant in playable condition.

Anonymous said...

I agree Ben. I was just asking. My comments were that EITHER big court is gonna take all of us to clean off( if it looks like willmore.)

Yeah, but regardless of what happens Friday night, I want to be able to send folks from the Skatium to a playable Mt P.

Thanks for the reality check, guys. But today's grocery trip was just for the few items we didn't pick up on Tuesday. I ain't buying everyone chips and stuff. Just the 4 meals we promised and planned.

P.S. I'd rather clean up the results of too much hppy granola in a place than the aftermath of too much beer. But, yeah - more beer is what we're saving up for.

wheres the hood kicks show? i think that could be a good lock-in kick off if you're playing in st.louis

I think Tony Free Beer is gonna come thru for us. I'll let you know tonight.

We should all go to the hood kicks show for sure.

DANCE DANCE DANCE DANCE PARTY

Evan (Hood Kicks) said...

the Hood Kicks show is at the Sci Fi Lounge. 6010 Kingsbury Avenue, Saint Louis, MO 63112. I wood be all for it being the kick off party but the place isn't that big. People should still come but I don't know if we should advertise it as the kick off party. Not for my sake but more for the sake of the guy who runs the place. I would love for it to be packed to the rim haha.

My only other idea is if we could find someone who would be cool with having a house show, I wood gladly play there also and we could make that the official kick off party

that's my thoughts. But either way people should still come to the sci fi lounge

a bunch of como kids will be in the vicinity as of friday, so holler at a player if you need a hand with anything. or pending como entry fees a few hours early, if that emergency should arise. see you guys tomorrow!

barney said...

I know this is rather late in the game but is there a desire for a mechanic to be on hand?

anchovy said...

If you want Barney, it would be cool. Im sure at this point it would be voluntering on your part since our budget is pretty well tapped out. Im sure free food and such would be available for you. It would consist of light wheel truing and the same stuff as the last polo event we had here that you were at. Im sure we would be glad to see you and have your services.

ALSO whoever anonymously wrote "i can help you clear the court on friday"..they should NOT EXPECT TO MEET ME THERE. The group im hosting gets in Friday afternoon and i need to be there waiting for them. I would love to help brush the court off and think it really needs to be done if we are gonna plan on playing there on Sunday at all.
You can call/text me or others and rally some sort of group to get this done. Ben, we need your blower. Sucks, We dont have alot of evening daylight to do this.

Its official we have ten more 24 packs of the good stuff and it only cost us $100. It's a hell of a deal. The only contingency is that Tony made me promise upon promise that we recycle the bottles.

He even threw in some pinata stuffers!

Sorry to cut in on yr communications, but some of us true Hoosiers are rolling in on Friday night (and staying with friends) but wanted to know if there was anything going down that night. City museum is supposed to be pretty cool?

We'll arrive too late for polo, but drinking and revelry is always on the menu.

Lucky said...

I'll be in the shop most of the morning finishing these damned bike racks. Then I've got one guy coming in at noon, and another at 2:30. After that, I'm free to help clear Mt P until evening, when the rest of my guests arrive. I have shovel, broom, and squeegee. Can others meet at 3pm to do this, or would you like to have it done by then?

Bloomington- there is no official plan for Friday. There's dance party show, lotsa cool bars, maybe some garage polo, and of course the city museum.

nick said...

i would imagine garage polo is out, seeing that we got ran out by security on Wed.

Sunday polo is at the Lock-In.

If you have a crockpot you should bring it to the lock-in. We've got a lot of food to get and keep warm.

here's a question I didn't think to ask before: is there going to be enough room in the refrigerators at the skatium to store the shit ton of food we have AND the beer? or should people bring coolers for beer?

oh, and t-shirts are here!
julia

STL BIKE POLO said...

No way we've got room for all the beer. Anybody have access to one of those big troughs we can fill with ice? Good work on shirts Julia!
