So its my birthday this weekend, and I want to play polo and BBQ. I say we have a polo party this Saturday at Lindenwood Park. I'll be at Lindenwood at 2:00 PM this Saturday.
I think either i have some or have had in the past those cinelli spaghettis. They look super familiar. OH, i think i had them on a bike i sold a while back. I was all like "what are these?"
Here's what's come of the polo demo. Chip, a bigwig at Atomic Cowboy can block off Tallmage (the side street right next to the bar) for us for Saturday (like, next Saturday, June 12th) evening during the artcrank poster show. It'd be a pretty tight court, maybe only 2 vs 2. We'd have to bring all our own everything, including boards material if we want more than an 8" curb on the sides or anything behind the goals.
As a club, we don't need boards and nets. We are blessed by the city with fully equipped roller hockey rinks. And even if we did, I don't think we'd opt for a portable version.
I hear tentative interest. I do not hear folks volunteering time, money, tools, and storage space to make a temporary rink on Tallmage St.
I have tools and storage space. No money for materials. Some time.
If we can only build low boards to keep costs down, we should use an ags ball to keep it out of the crowd.
I think if we do the demo, more people will know what we are about. Fears will subside and eventually the public will come to embrace its local Bike Polo Team.
This particular setup does not sound ideal. It is a step in the right direction. Props to Lucky for getting the ball rolling, and sorry if I said it was lame. I'ts not a lame idea not at all. I just think with more planning we could kill it.
topher work until 4. topher angry! will still party with topher?!!! topher be at party (if still party then)around 4:30. Now topher sad. Topher cry all day at work. Maybe Topher get sent home early for being big baby.
yo chovi. what size is your Baramon? im buying a neon green Bridgestone 53 and they have a 50cm as well. (the 53 is almost $700 cheaper) i wanted to try out some sizes before i buy. do you think i could ride it around for a second to get a feel for the size? unless its like a 56 or something like that. Then i say good day to you sir.
p.s. obviously im not asking you to bring that bike today. i just thought maybe at some time this week i could roll over to your place of residence and try it out. the bike that is....
Mine is a 56cm. A 50 will be way to small. If your gonna buy a nice njs frame, take your time and buy one that fits. dont skimp on price and get an ill fitting one. Are you the same height as Josh Picker who works at maplewood? I know he has a njs bike and isnt he more your size? Ask him. He has had a couple. Im sure he can just look at you and tell you what size would be good. Anachovy
Hey, if anyone picked up an extra pair of gloves at the end of the night, they are probably mine. I left them on the table at some point and then they got lost in the shuffle when it got dark.
What a great day. Thanks StL bike polo, you folks are the best. Even people on the DL came out to party!
I need a BMX style stem and bars for my new polo bike, if anyone has such things laying around. Cole, Jake, Lee, Andy, I'm looking at you. For parts or advice, I don't know nothing about BMX stuff.
Lucky-Ask Eugene. Jake gave him some bmx bars for his polo bike but he hasnt played in months and probably wont ever put them on anyway. Peat Henry always has some bars and stems sitting around. Im supposed to see him later-i will ask him.

Yay or Nay?
Doesn't seem right to me. But obviously I am out. That would however get u dudes to build sweet bards and nets.
im not playing in that stuff but...sounds lame. sounds like people getting hurt maybe and polo looking silly. (provide our own boards?) i say no.
Doesn't sound ideal...but realistically, I wouldn't expect any of the initial few demos to be ideal.
But I would expect that with more exposure comes more ideal setups and potential hookups.

Is someone bringing a grill and charcoal to this party, or should I try to figure something out?
'Chovy - can you bring that GT if there's room in yer truck?
will Nick's polo party be going on all day? I can't be there till around 5 -Patrick
I can bring grill
I can bring that gt only if you have a way to bring it home. I dont want to bring it for a "viewing"

i like this new Lucky! climbing fences, staying up late...BMX?! way to go G-PA!
Trent,
I have found our third in the form of Drew D. He is currently spending the summer in MKE...training. I think we're gonna have fun!
I was still in bed by 10 last night. But I did carve the hill on Ben's mini-bike. So maybe those cancel each other out.
Anchovy: me, you, and who else for NAs? Who else from St Louis can take 4-5 days off for polo in late July?
I dont know if you would want a dirty east coaster on your team, but I would like to apply for the lucky chovi team.
Im not going to nas.
Im out for today as well (broke that seatpost)

Got some from Jake. Thanks. As soon as the new headset comes in, I will build up and start playing on the GT.
