Saturday, April 4th. StL vs. CoMO.

This Saturday is the big day of friendlies and the Roller Derby halftime exhibition match in Columbia. Who's in? Who's out? Who can drive?

The plan is to leave St. Louis around noon, play friendlies all afternoon, get dinner, pick our exhibition team of three and an alternate, do the halftime show, party, crash, drive back Sunday morning.

My car will be in Chicago, but I can put my rack on anyone's car.

We will need some kind of uniform to make the exhibition easy on the audience. Matching wheel covers and or shirts and shorts. 'Chovie, you got anything fun for this? Trent, can you get some more cloroplast and vynil?

I am down like a clown.

I dont have any shirts that match that i can think of. I got tons of sweatshirts in bulk, but i dont want to play an indoor game in sweats. It would be real sweaty.
I think i can go and drive my truck. But i gotta check. Usually i work on the weekends.

I'm going to a full auto machine gun shoot in kentucky. So I guess that means I'm out.

OK. So far Nick is driving up on Friday, and me and 'Chovy are driving up on Saturday. Los Bros Todos will be in KY.

More details: A "FBC style ride" called the six-pack shuffle is happening Friday night in Columbia.

The derby rented the fairgrounds building all day. We'll have to build out our own court (they have 2 X 4's and plywood). The parties are invite-only and are in the same room as the derby/polo. Places to stay are set up assuming any of us are good to drive. The fairgrounds are too far out to ride to town.

I do have two st. cago shirts, with lucky's that would make three.

I have some red coroplast leftover from the fist run. At least enough to do one wheel.

I actually will be in town this weekend. Next weekend is when I am out. Got the dates screwed up. Not sure if I will be able to make it to Columbia or not. We are getting into this shindig for free, right?

Yes, of course. Our entry is free. We are part of the show. We're on the flyer!

I don't know if/how much we drink for free.

I finally got to talk with one of the StL derby women. This team wears white tops and black bottoms and have a "Nelly, gangsta, lunachick" theme.

I have no idea what that means. But white and black I can do. I think it'd help people follow the game if we all had red (or otherwise the same) wheel covers, too.

hey i still have red wheel covers cut for a 26" wheel. if anyone wants em just give me a shout.

Lucky said...

How about you put them on a wheel, and come play bike polo with us instead?

that also sounds like a reasonable idea

So, i crashed my truck last night. Its not horrible, but i cant drive it right now. The radiator is busted among other things. I was happy to drive before, but now i cant. Any suggestions?

Also, as far as the wheel covers go, you guys just need to find life size stickers of women to put on them. Then we all will match. TaDa! problem solved.

I know where to get some wheel-sized pictures of Madia Coleman...

Sorry about your truck, I guess you're OK since you didn't say anything.

OK. Trent or Paul (or anyone lese interested) has to come now. And they have to drive.

I'll see what my plans are for saturday. I think I might have some stuff to do for the garden. I probably wouldn't be able to drive anyway.
