Music This Weekend!

Tonite: @ The Tap Room 8pm Fattback will be playing. For those of you who aren't familiar with Fattback there music is an ecclectic amalgamation of everything from punk rock to country, with a little jam band thrown in. I have heard hem compared to the band Clutch. I think many of us will be meeting before the show at the nw Tin Can (1909 Locust St.). You cn Check out Fattback @ http://www.myspace.com/fattbackband

Tomorrow: @ Throttle (720 N. 1st street) 7pm Those Legendary Shack Shakers will playing. These guys are Rockabilly & Blues on speed. They put on a great show and are definitely worth the $10 cover charge.

"Shack*Shakers are the ultimate in demented cowpunk - a moonshine fuelled
whirlwind of brutalized rockabilly and warped irreligious imagery. Johnny Cash
would no doubt of approved. and so should you." 4/5 -KERRANG

Hope to see some folks out.

P.S. Polo Sunday @ Mt. Pleasant 2pm

Cloudy high of 37.....only a 10% chance of rain.

Polo lever

I found a double brake lever, perfect for polo, for about $12 including shipping on E-bay. It's not on an auction either, so that's a set price.

bike polo equals not larking

Last night I met one of my potential future roommates... We were talking about our spare time activities and interests- of course I mentioned bike polo. This guy had the nerve to compare bike polo to "larking."

This is the only similar thing I could find on the Interweb, but I found this comparison to be gravely insulting. It's a medieval role playing game. Let's just say this guy is at the bottom of the list for now. So, what are the game plans for the weekend? (I actually plan on playing!)

STL Bike Polo Snow Day

Last weekend the polo court was buried under a bunch of snow, and the court under the bridge was wet, so we made the best of the winter weather in St. Louis. We met at the bridge and went over to the water reservoir for some sledding. It didn't take long before a ramp was built and sledders became moving targets for snowballs. There were some pretty wild wrecks, but I don't think anyone was hurt. Next time we'll have to see what happens if beer gets involved.

Who Wants to go on a Road Trip?

January 6th in Milwaukee anyone?

http://www.madbikepolo.org

I think it's time we venture outside of our little polo bubble and see the sights up north. If I see even one "hell yeah" reply I'm goin'. Just one, thats all its gonna take.
